Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026

This policy explains what data PDFMaster AI does and does not collect when you use the tools on this site. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

Your documents

Every tool on this site processes files locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. When you select a PDF, an image, a Word file or a spreadsheet, it is read into your browser's memory, transformed there, and returned to you as a download. The file is never transmitted to our servers, never written to a server disk, and never seen by us or by any third party. We therefore hold no copy of your documents, and cannot recover, disclose or delete them — there is nothing to recover.

The one consequence worth knowing: if you close the tab mid-operation, your work is gone, because it only ever existed in that tab.

Camera and microphone

The mobile scanner requests camera access through your browser's standard permission prompt. Frames are captured into a canvas in the page and assembled into a PDF locally. No video stream is recorded or transmitted. Revoking the permission in your browser's site settings disables the scanner and nothing else. We never request microphone access.

Information we do collect

Our hosting provider processes standard technical request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — for the purpose of serving the site and protecting it from abuse. We use aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics to understand which tools are used, so we know where to spend development time. We do not maintain user accounts, so we hold no names, email addresses or passwords unless you email us directly.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage to remember interface preferences such as your light or dark theme choice. This never leaves your device and contains no identifier. We do not set our own tracking cookies. Cookies may be set by our advertising partner, as described below.

Advertising

The site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on that activity.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices. Google's own handling of data is described in the Google privacy & terms notice for partner sites.

Our advertising partner never receives your documents. Ads are rendered in isolated frames and have no access to the files you process.

Third parties

Beyond hosting and advertising, the site loads web fonts from Google Fonts and, for OCR, downloads open-source Tesseract language models on first use. These requests reveal only that a browser at your IP address requested a static asset — never any document content.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and similar frameworks you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. Because we operate without accounts and without receiving your files, the personal data we hold is limited to technical server logs and any correspondence you initiate. Write to us and we will act on any valid request.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and its revision date. Material changes will be summarised at the top of the page.
