Can I rotate just one page?

Understanding rotate pdf

Rotation in PDF is metadata, not pixels. Each page carries a /Rotate value of 0, 90, 180 or 270 degrees, and viewers apply it at display time. Changing it is therefore instant and completely lossless.

This matters when a scanner fed a stack sideways: nothing is wrong with the image data, only the orientation flag. Rotating fixes the document without touching quality or file size.

You can rotate the whole document or individual pages, which is the usual case when landscape charts are mixed into a portrait report.

When you would use it

—Correcting a batch scan that came out 90 degrees off.
—Turning landscape spreadsheets upright inside a portrait report.
—Fixing upside-down pages from a duplex scanner's reverse pass.
—Preparing a document for a viewer that ignores manual on-screen rotation.

Practical tips

Rotating twice by 90° is identical to a single 180° rotation; there is no cumulative quality cost.
If a page still looks wrong after rotating, the image itself may be rotated inside the page — re-scan or crop it instead.
Rotate before adding page numbers or watermarks so those elements land the right way up.

Troubleshooting

My reader shows the old orientation: Close and reopen the downloaded file; some readers cache the previously rendered page.
Only some pages rotated: Check the page selection field — an empty selection applies to every page, a filled one only to those listed.
