Understanding sign pdf

This tool adds a visible signature: you draw with a mouse, trackpad or finger, or upload a signature image, then place it on the page. The result is what most day-to-day agreements need — a visual mark of assent on a document.

It is not a cryptographic digital signature. There is no certificate, no timestamp authority and no tamper-evidence. For qualified electronic signatures under eIDAS or comparable frameworks, use a certified provider.

Drawing happens on a canvas at device pixel ratio, so signatures stay smooth on high-DPI screens and phones, where a finger-drawn signature usually looks better than a mouse-drawn one.

When you would use it

  • Signing a rental agreement or NDA sent as a PDF.
  • Approving an internal expense form without printing it.
  • Adding initials to each page of a contract annexe.
  • Placing a scanned handwritten signature on a letter.

Practical tips

  • Sign with a finger on a phone or tablet; the result is far closer to your real signature than a mouse stroke.
  • Upload a transparent PNG if you already have a scanned signature — it blends into the page cleanly.
  • Flatten sensitive agreements by exporting to images afterwards if you want the signature not to be separable.

Troubleshooting

Nothing draws on the canvas
Make sure a PDF is loaded first — the drawing surface appears with the document preview.
The signature looks too big
Resize before placing; a signature roughly 4–6 cm wide matches a handwritten one on paper.
